seniorbook AG
Employed as Creative Director at Seniorbook AG, I did all kinds of tasks and projects for seniorbook, the leading community and platform for best agers in Germany. Most important was to be the point of intersection between management/sales, ad management, product management and the developers. Turning ideas into prototypes and mockups and planning the next development sprints was my job. On top of that, I wanted to give the company a consistent look & feel, took care of online and print campaigns, of presentations and also several smaller tasks.
I took over when seniorbook had a really aging design, which was far from responsive. So I started to plan a redesign, which was implemented step by step. The new font-face Proxima Nova (by then it was really new, nowadays everybody uses it) was followed by a new navigation scheme, followed by a new boxed layout and so on. What I couldn’t change was the brand’s color scheme, but at least I did my best to give the colors a bit more modern touch.
After a while the process of design execution was streamlined, as I switched from Photoshop based mockups and styleguides to Sketch and zeplin, which could almost deliver ready-to-use CSS. Designs could be turned into actual views much faster and much more consistent with the design specs. Creating prototypes with Invision for more complex UX tasks made planning new development cycles easier and time estimates more accurate.
As messaging was what users did most when using seniorbook on their mobile devices, it was decided to develop a stand-alone messenger app. Developed as a hybrid app, the look and feel should be as native as possible, both for Android and iOS platforms.
As I was the one for „everything design“ there were numerous smaller tasks like creating new business cards, sales booklets, presentations, infographics etc. etc.
